After contributing over the past few days to the "heel turned blue eye" topic on the forum, it set the grey matter thinking: rather than watching the sport, you had participated, what would you have liked to have been? (Promoter permitting of course!)

I would have to be a heel. A lot more fun as well as being able to interact more with the crowd and wind them up

I would have been a hero, because that is in my make-up, but people in the game that I have spoken to, say that it was more fun ,with more scope, being a heel.

Definitely heel. For all the reasons given by Powerlock and creating the heat from the crowd.

British wrestling - great characters but the plot was always a bit of a mystery.

I always toyed with the idea of playing the heel, generating atmosphere myself!

I reckon i would have been a Heel, Wrestling a bit like my favourite Wrestler, the great ' Banger ' Tony Walsh. I always really enjoyed a night at the Wrestling whenever he was on the bill.

Cheers,

Mark.

Yes mark, had the pleasure of a couple of chats with Tony at the old Liverpool Stadium back in the day, a character and also a lovely bloke..

I would have liked to have been a hero, maybe forming a tag team with Bernhard to take on you heels.

After all your comments - where does the satisfaction really lie?

When I talk to wrestlers they often express their enjoyment at putting their opponent (co-worker) over.

I think that would be great fun and a chance to do your job really well.

The Bob Kirkwoods of the wrestling world made careers out of this and were absolutely essential and much respected by the bigger names.  Bob seemed to love his opponents' work.

Selling or "jobbing" bring satisfaction.

Something different Frank , maybe Masked Titan or Talos and the mask would not be plain either. I would get Adrian Street to design it.

Masked Titan sounds good Ron, just don't join the legions of Doctor Death.

Hi Ron, I would pay money to see "The History Man"

Now that would be a mystery.

Although  all of my heroes were the good guys I would have been a villain; Syd Cooper and Chic Purvey would have been my role models.

Difficult one.  I do like my clean matches and a confirmed heel doesn't really get the chance to do that.

But I think I'd rather be the heel than be a sanctimonious blue-eye in a blue-eye vs heel match.

I loved to be either. Whatever Jimmy Hagen or Orig told me to be I loved it but it depended on the opponent. Because l had no tv experience the crowd didn't know me but they knew the guys I was put up against so in effect I had the upper hand. Never worked though as my win ratio was do much lower than my lose figures.

Most of the biographies I have read say that the Villain leads the match and dictates what is going on, so in that respect, I would have said Villain, but I remember as a young lad, that feeling when the good guy made his "comeback", and you wanted to punch the air and shout "yes!".

So I can't make my mind up!!
