You must have some memories to share Craig, we'd like to hear them.

Is this your grandad, promoter at Thetford?

British wrestling - great characters but the plot was always a bit of a mystery.

I always thought Fred Downes was a great MC, he did the dale Martin shows at King's Lynn in the early 80s. If anyone wants to check out Fred have a look at Quinn v Caswell Martin when Wayne Bridges comes in at the start, Fred Downes is an equal star of the show in the pre-match bundle and I can recall other TV appearences when his enthusiam almost bubbles over. I always thought John Harris was the best MC of that era swiftly followed by Fred (far better than Brian Crabtree !!), they both gave wrestling a professional sheen rather than Brian's rather more over the top sensationalizing. I think Fred Downes used to run an antique shop in Attleborough (in Norfolk) but was he a former wrestler does anyone know ?
