Whilst the Heritage Years begin in 1930 most readers remember only the days of wrestling in the second half of the twentieth century. Truth is there was a world of wrestling in the 1930s. Overseas visitors supplemented the domestic stars of the ring and men such as Jack Pye, Norman the Butcher, Bert Assirati and Douglas Clark became household names with their wrestling exploits reported in the national press. We believe that Wrestling Heritage has assembled the most thoroughly documented collection of pre war wrestlers that can be found anywhere.
