James Morton has fallen foul of our current forum fault and has tried posting this new topic. It seems to be a matter of chance whether or not a new topic can be started. Here goes ...

When I was in Morecambe as a boy I once saw a poster The Pye Family v The Rest of the World so here’s with the World Cup starting here a challenge. A four to six contest bill England v The Rest of the World. Who would you have match up for either side? According to my rules residence can qualify (as in cricket) and so Assirati can appear for England. One tag match only and no Masked Men. Certainly not Paul Lincoln ex Hollywood. All wrestlers are in their prime even though they may be a couple of decades apart in age . I think the only other rule is that the wrestlers must have appeared in a British ring post 1945. I’d top the bill with Jack Pye v Robert Duranton. Other suggestions please.

British wrestling - great characters but the plot was always a bit of a mystery.

Foul!  Steve Haggetty was "Canadian", occasionally "Irish Canadian".

I don't know, Hack, you make up your own rules and in no time you are caught bending them, blindside...

If they found that out, Hack, they'd go mental.  Most were convinced I was Eddie Capelli for the first few years.

As for young Powerlock:  Wales is in England as it was conquered and annexed by the English. It's just like Wessex or Mercia.   Unlike Scotland which was unified with England.  ☺
