Filmed in Yorkshire. Wondering if they used local wrestling schools and trainers. This was originally going to be a TV series

please note that a lot of the high risk wrestling done by jack black "Nacho Libre" was dome with CGI. that was 2006. cgi has moved since then and got better and cheaper

A far from flattering review

British wrestling - great characters but the plot was always a bit of a mystery.

Marty Jones was invited to the premier as I think wrestlers from his school were involved. Marty couldn't make it due to continued problems after knee surgery.

I met one of Marty's students at the WCPW World Cup Japan heat in Manchester last year, spoke very highly of Marty and was a genuinely nice lad. It was also one of the best shows I have had the pleasure to attend ever

Fictionalised drama about our pro wrestling years never works.

What would work, I am sure, would be a factual drama or biography.  But this has not been attempted, I believe,

Certainly not in this country and possibly the nearest in the USA was the 1978 film The One and Only starring Henry Winkler and 'based' on the life of Gorgeous George.

Drama about British Wrestling would work if the creators would only restrain themselves and use less outlandish names and images for their fictional wrestlers, in line with real life history.
