This months Fighting Spirit Magazine includes a very interesting tribute to both these men.It gives Rocky Walls date of death as New Years day but was it not New Years Eve announced on New Years Day?

Thanks Peter. I'm not sure of the date of death but the family announced the news on Heritage on 1st January. I would have thought New Years Eve more likely but don't know. If John Lister wrote the article he could clear it up for us.

British wrestling - great characters but the plot was always a bit of a mystery.

One other aspect of the end of Rocky Walls career covered by the article is the 1972 expose by the News of the World of his pre arranged match with Mike Marino.Perhaps this explains why he cut most of his ties with the Professional Wrestling world

He was around for a while after the expose, working with independent promoters.

Must have been a great shock to have a private conversation on the front of the News of the World but shows how seriously he was taken as a wrestler
